Sand In My Shoes
Sunsets & Sand Dunes
You know that feeling when you return home from a couple of weeks of holiday and everything is a bit blah? You do your washing, get the shopping in and get ready to go back to work. The sunset cocktails, the quaint cobbled streets and little fishing villages now seem like a lifetime away. There's been no cooking, washing up or ironing for at least a week and you had time to just sit with a cold beer in a frosted glass watching the sailboats, effortlessly drifting by, dreaming of a life where this was forever.
When you unpack your suitcase and your crumpled clothes remind you of the last time you wore them, on that balmy night drinking cocktails in that beach bar, or that towel that is still a bit damp from your last day at the pool?

Ella's Story

She knows that holiday romances aren’t supposed to last, and she is resigned to that fact, but she just can’t seem to shake the sand from her shoes or the thought of Yiannis and what could have been….
Soundtrack
The title comes from my favourite Dido song - Sand In My Shoes - which could be the soundtrack to this story. If you don't know it, I recommend downloading it from wherever you get your music or check out the lyrics on the t'internet - sadly, for copyright reasons, I am unable to write them out here - but apparently, I am allowed to link to her video, so here you go.
Get the story for FREE!
The story is FREE to anyone who signs up for my newsletter, the link is on my Home page.
You can download the story to your Kobo, Kindle or on Pdf so you can read it anywhere on multiple devices! I suggest hitting the sunlounger with a glass of something cold. Just lay back and dream of Greece.
I really hope you like the story and would love to hear your feedback so please feel free to contact me on Facebook, Instagram or by email at info@ameliashort.co.uk
